This course was developed as an introduction to the real estate profession. It covers all of the topics that are required to obtain a real estate sales license in the State of Connecticut. This includes the legal aspects of ownership, titles, contracts and closings. Real estate services such as brokerage, sales and leasing, property inspection and management are included. Real estate financing and appraisal, as well as taxation and environmental issues are covered.
This course meets the minimum education requirements as set forth by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission and the Department of Consumer Protection. Students wishing to sit for the State of Connecticut licensing exam, must complete this course with a grade of 70 or above and attend a minimum of 60 classroom hours of instruction.

Jim Kyle has over 30 years experience as an appraiser and real estate broker. He has been a City Assessor in New York City and the Real Estate Assessor for the City of New Haven. He has taught at the college level since 1991 and lectured on real estate topics in 10 states. Jim is involved in vacation rentals in Florida and the Turks & Caicos Islands. He has a BS in Business Administration and an MS in Geography.
