Course Description

"Starlight, Starbright: An Introduction to the Night Sky" - Have you ever wanted to learn more about what's "up" in the night sky? Are you curious as to whether the Evening Star is really a star, and if the North Star is the brightest star in the sky? Can Mars really appear as big as the full moon, and when is the best time to look for "shooting stars"? Dr. Kristine Larsen takes you on a tour of the night sky using the Copernican Planetarium's star projector, answering all your questions about how to make the most out of your time out under the real night sky. Afterwards, if the skies are clear, we will observe through a variety of telescopes. If skies do not cooperate, you will have an opportunity to get a hands-on look at the telescopes and learn about what type of instrument might be best for you and your family.

This event includes appetizers.
