Meet Valerie Wilson!
HR Professional Certificate Graduate

Valerie Wilson graduated from the Continuing Education Department’s Human Resources Professional Certificate Program at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in June of 2016. She works at the University of Saint Joseph as an Assistant Director of Employer Relations in the Career Development Center. The knowledge she gained in the program has been helpful when working with her students, some of which may explore HR themselves.

Early in her career, Ms. Wilson worked in recruiting for a couple of staffing employment agencies. She wanted to get up to speed with the advancements and changes in the field. That is when she joined the HR program at CCSU. She enjoyed the program, especially meeting all of the women in the course with diverse backgrounds. She also admired the instructors, particularly Mary Jo Leahy, whom Ms. Wilson referred to as an “excellent instructor.”
