Technical Writing & Presenting

This workshop explains the characteristics of effective technical communication, with a focus on giving technical presentations. Participants will get resources and templates for technical presentations, both their written and oral components, and they will be introduced to a writing process.

Curriculum

Effective communication in a variety of industries from Engineering, Technology, Construction Management and more requires clarity, directness, and precision. This workshop explains the characteristics of effective technical communication, with a focus on giving technical presentations. Participants will get resources and templates for technical presentations, both their written and oral components, and they will be introduced to a writing process. Everyone will get feedback from the instructor on their own presentation materials. Participants are encouraged but not required to bring their own in-progress presentations.

Dr. Brewer teaches Composition and English at Central CT State University and specifically teaches in the School of Engineering, Science and Technology. She is skilled at teaching writing to technical people.
