Project Management Preparation (PMP) Certification Test Prep

The PMP® certification is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers and is granted through The Project Management Institute, PMI, the world’s leading project management organization.

This Instructor-led program is ideal for those with project management experience, are preparing to take the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification examination, and want to make certain they have a high probability of passing it the first time. All materials used and provided are based on the new 6th Edition of the PMBOK

The 5-session program is based on the nine Project Management Knowledge Areas and the five Project Management Process Groups. Representative exam questions and quizzes will be given throughout each session.

Techniques used will enhance participant’s understanding, comprehension, and retention of critical knowledge and skills attained. Participants completing the 5 sessions will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and will earn the required 35 contact hours to sit for the PMP examination. Instructor
Scott D. Ferrin has been the director for talent management at Arizona State University Enterprise Partners since 2019.

He has more than 25 years of work experience in HR in the association, mining, financial services, and insurance industries. He is an expert consultant and speaker on HR best practices. Before joining the ASUEP staff, he held titles such as field services director, senior workforce planner, workforce planning manager, HR manager, talent manager, recruiter and HR generalist for companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 to start-up companies with 20 employees.

ASU Enterprise Partners (ASUEP) is a shared service enterprise of investment, finance, law, information systems, human resources and communication experts who provide centralized guidance and support to each entity that makes up ASU Enterprise Partners: the ASU Foundation, University Realty LLC, ASU Research Enterprises, Arizona Technology Enterprises and Research Collaboratory at ASU. These organizations support the aspiration of Arizona State University to be a New American University.

Ferrin administers the development and implementation of recruiting strategies for ASUEP. Under his leadership, the HR team provides an innovative and effective organization-wide talent management program with focused attention on talent acquisition, employee engagement, retention and succession planning.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from Weber State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is certified as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Ferrin serves as the deputy director of membership for the Arizona SHRM State Council and was previously the legislative director for the East Valley Human Resources Association.
