Three weeks, three authors, three genres, three wars, three takes on a seemingly unending fact of human society. In this series, we’ll look at Iliad, Homer’s epic poem of the Trojan War; The Histories, Herodotus’ groundbreaking work of investigation and chronicling of the Persian Wars; and Lysistrata, Aristophanes’ comic play written during the Peloponnesian War.
