CCSU is proud to be an exclusive university partner with SHRM to offer SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) certification preparation courses and the SHRM Essentials course. HR professionals are facing new and larger challenges each day in part to a changing workforce, shifting legislation and regulations and an ever-evolving landscape. The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP are the most globally-recognized HR certifications and ensure you are ready to tackle the new challenges.

We are also proud to partner with the local chapter of SHRM, the Human Resources Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC) to offer the Human Resources Professional Certificate.

Continuing Education has been offering our classes online when we can.  We will continue to offer bring many of our classes to you online and will keep you updated when we can offer our classes on our campus.

Human Resources Programs

The Diversity Essentials Bootcamp will explore diversity and inclusion from a leadership perspective.  Designed as a “hands on” workshop, the camp will challenge participants to roll up their sleeves, dive deep and begin designing the elements of a powerful and integrated D&I strategy for their organization.

Join us in this three-hour session to learn how to conduct a D&I analysis of your organization’s HR function.  You’ll walk away with an approach that is proven to help you demonstrate to your HR leaders that you are aware of the linkages of D&I and HR, as well as being able to ask the tough questions of HR leaders that will get them thinking about the interrelationship of both functions as well as the linkage of D&I and HR to business success.

The Human Resources (HR) Professional Certificate consists of six comprehensive classes that offer a detailed overview of the Human Resources functions.  All six classes are required to complete the certificate.   You can register for all six here, or for each class separately in the options below.

In this capstone course, students apply newly learned human resource skills towards solving real-life HR problems. Open only to those who have completed the first five courses or former graduates of the HR Management Certificate Program.

In this heavily participatory workshop you will explore implicit biases and how they impact your community, work environment and race relations. Even if we are consciously committed to fairness and equality and deliberately work to behave without prejudice, we can still possess hidden negative prejudices and stereotypes.

The SHRM Essential of Human Resources course covers the topics you need to meet key HR challenges that are relevant to you and your company.  If you are a supervisor or manager and you want an overview this is a great class.
